Jiankou Great Wall is located in Huairou County where the mountains are very steep and changeable. Because the appearance of Jiankou Great Wall presents W shape which looks like a bow, the name of Jiankou is formed. This Great Wall belongs to one of the most dangerous sections.
The Jiankou section of the wall was constructed in 1368 during the period of the Ming Dynasty. It is made of large white rocks which can be seen from a great distance. Jiankou retains its original appearance since its construction, and is an ideal place for adventurous and experienced hikers and photographers.
